Santa Monica High School Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Relationship with 16 Year Old

The teacher was identified as Ingo Horst Gaida, 58, from Los Angeles. He was arrested for Misdemeanor "Child Annoying."

On January 27, 2025, the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) received a report regarding a suspected inappropriate relationship between a 16-year-old female student from santa monica high school and a male teacher.

Detectives investigated and found that the science teacher and the student had been involved in inappropriate activities since late 2024, occurring in various locations across Los Angeles County.

On February 5, 2025, SMPD detectives, with the help of uniformed and undercover officers, executed arrest and search warrants, leading to the teacher's arrest.

The teacher was identified as Ingo Horst Gaida, 58, from Los Angeles. He was booked on two misdemeanors: 647.6(a)(1) PC for annoying or molesting a child under 18 and 272(a)(1) PC for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The case will be submitted to the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office. Gaida was released with a citation and a promise to appear in court. He has no previous criminal record.
