The Directors Guild of America Awards 2025: Sean Baker wins the top film prize for " Anora" by Rachel Ganz

On Saturday evening, February 8, 2025 the 77th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Entertaining Judd Apatow hosted the ceremony honoring the best film and TV directors worldwide

Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez)Sean Baker(Anora), Edward Berger (Conclave), Brady Corbet (The Brutalist),and James Manigold( A Complete Unknown) were in competition for the nights big prize in theatrical feature film, but it was Sean Baker, who won the award!

During his speech, Sean Baker blushed while thinking historic Mickey Madison and his mom acknowledging her support all the way

Renowned Director Ang Lee received the Directors Guild top honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Achievement in Motion Picture Direction

DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter complemented Ang Lee for his compelling and influential body of work that cuts across new challenges, many genres, including comedy ,Western, period drama, martial arts and superhero

" Michael Apted First-Time Theatrical Feature Film" was won by "Nickel Boys" director RaMell Ross and Dramatic Series and Comedy Series ,which went to Frederick E.O Toye for Shogun" and Lucia Aniello for "Hacks"

Demi Moore , stole the spotlight on the Red Carpet and on stage with a dazzling silver sheer gown, with a delicate peacock motif, made a cute reference to the film " The Substance"

Mikey Madison (Anora) wore a conservative monochromatic white blouse tucked in a long black shirt, was still stunning and beautiful

Michelle Yeoh looked lovely and stylish , still beaming from last years oscar prize

Zoe Saldana wore a lively " Nina Rocco " shirt polka-dotted dress and a big smile!
