A long, intermittent set of shakes rumbled through Santa Monica at 1:03 pm local time. The first temblor was recorded by USGS.GOV as a 4.1 on the Richter scale, located 11 km southwest of Westlake Village and at a depth of 9 km. A few seconds later, a 2.5 quake was recorded, followed by another at 3.0 and a fourth, about 30 seconds after the first, at 2.8. The government geological website continues to change the magnitude of each.
