Armed Robbery Shocks Quiet Carmelina Neighborhood, as Men Followed Home From 7-11 at Bundy and Ohio

A brazen armed robbery unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, September 1, 2025, leaving a tight-knit community on the 1500 block of Carmelina reeling with shock and fear. At approximately midnight PDT, three men wielding guns targeted a local resident and his friend just outside the resident's home, following a chilling pursuit that began at a nearby 7-Eleven store on Bundy and Ohio.

The victim, a man whose identity has not been disclosed, believes he was singled out due to his flashy accessory: A watch resembling a Rolex, a detail that has since taken on an ironic twist. The assailants trailed him home after his late-night stop at the convenience store, ambushing him and his companion in front of his residence. The robbers made off with the watch, cash, and both men's neck chains, though the financial loss appears minimal. The victim's family operates a business manufacturing look-alike versions of luxury watches and branded jewelry, meaning the stolen items were likely replicas rather than high-value originals. However, the robbers also destroyed the victim's phone and laptop, adding to the sense of violation.

Authorities have yet to release specific details about the incident, including descriptions of the suspects or the exact sequence of events. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating, but no arrests have been reported as of 11:50 PM PDT on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The robbery has left the neighborhood deeply traumatized. Residents, who describe the area as typically peaceful, are now grappling with a heightened sense of insecurity. "It's terrifying to think this happened right in front of his home," said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous. "We're all on edge now."

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events of this unsettling crime. The irony of the victim's family business-crafting affordable imitations of the very luxury goods that may have drawn the robbers-adds a surreal layer to an already distressing ordeal for the Carmelina community.
