Traci Parks: "Those of you who travel on Lincoln Blvd through Venice will surely recognize this RV that was illegally parked and blocking traffic for months,"
Los Angeles City Councilwoman Traci Park announced today that a long-standing nuisance involving an illegally parked recreational vehicle (RV) on Lincoln Boulevard in Venice has finally been resolved.
In an Instagram post shared earlier today, Councilwoman Park, who represents Council District 11 including Venice, highlighted the RV that had been blocking traffic for months. Accompanying photos showed the vehicle in question and presumably its removal.
Park wrote. "In addition to the serious public safety and traffic access issues, these people were stealing electricity, dealing drugs, and leaving their garbage all over the sidewalk. As of today, that particular problem is no more. We will keep at it until our streets and sidewalks are clear."
The post reflects ongoing efforts by Park and city teams to address illegal RV parking and related issues across her district, including enforcement actions targeting public safety hazards, environmental concerns, and neighborhood quality of life. Illegal RVs have been a persistent challenge in Venice and other parts of West Los Angeles, often tied to broader homelessness and housing discussions in the city.
Park has been vocal about prioritizing RV enforcement, crediting collaborative work with city departments like LAPD and cleanup crews for progress on problem vehicles. Residents and drivers along the busy Lincoln Boulevard corridor had reportedly faced obstructed traffic and associated safety risks from the stationary RV.
This removal comes amid continued citywide discussions on policies for addressing RVs used as dwellings, including recent state laws and local motions aimed at streamlining enforcement while balancing community needs.
Councilwoman Park emphasized that this is part of a larger commitment: "We will keep at it until our streets and sidewalks are clear." Similar cleanup operations have occurred recently in nearby areas of Venice and Westchester.
