Woman Murdered at "The Manor" at 1905 Pico Blvd in Santa Monica; 5th Murder of 2026 for Santa Monica

A woman was found dead in an apartment in the 1900 block of Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica (near Santa Monica College, consistent with reports around 1905 Pico Blvd) on the evening of Saturday, July 25, 2026; it is being investigated as a homicide, and a suspect is in custody.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), officers responded around 5:20–5:21 p.m. to a call about a woman needing medical assistance inside an apartment. They located an adult female with significant injuries. Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide. The victim's identity has been withheld pending notification of next of kin. The suspect's identity has not yet been released.

Additional details from news reporting (based on police information) indicate the victim was a resident in her late 20s at a residential facility for homeless adults with mental illness or developmental disabilities; the male suspect knew her and had been staying with her for a few days; the injuries resulted from an attack; and police view it as an isolated incident.
