This amazing September 11 event offered guests an afternoon of fashion, beauty, wellness, food, lifestyle products and entertainment while providing participating entrepreneurs and brands an opportunity to introduce their products to an entertainment-industry audience.
Secret Room Events has been producing Hollywood gifting lounges and celebrity gift bags since 2007.
Rita Branch and her team have become familiar faces during awards season, bringing together established companies and emerging brands in an intimate setting where guests can meet the people behind the products.
This year’s suite attracted a number of Emmy nominees and entertainment-industry guests. Among those attending were Jahmel Curfman and Hiro Koda, nominated for their work on Stranger Things, along with Colby Lemmo of Palm Royale, Terry Gould of All Her Fault, Alison Tatlock, Kim Estes of Big Law, Lauren Weedman of Hacks, casting directors Sharon Bialy and Sherry Thomas, Monica Levinson, and Mary Lou Belli.
Guests, including myself,, moved throughout the suite meeting designers, business owners and product representatives while sampling and receiving an eclectic selection of gifts.
The vendors were so informative and generous to all guests. and the Peterson Museum’s penthouse area was the perfect location, creating a very relaxed and cool environment to facilitate exploring all the new products and designers that were presented.
Participating companies represented a broad range of categories. Among the featured brands were SKÖN, B’Luxe Clothing Boutique, Leavened Goods by The Leavened Box, Japanese Head Spa Co, The Deweffect, Posh Pixie Handmade, CRUSH Sports, Beverly Hills Tennis Academy, POM DROPS LLC, SHAKEitCOOL, Kenna’s Crystals, Souk & Wanderlust, BAYEE London, Broken Trust Cellars, Dr. Lori Integrative Medicine, Punaballoo, Hale Sky, Lunette, Ohhh So Swag, EVOKE Immersive Technologies, Heart of the Streets H.O.T.S Clothing, Posh Pixie Moments and KORBLE Smart Greeting Cards.
The gifting continued beyond the individual displays. Lunette gift bags included products from an additional collection of brands, including Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, Wildflower Glow, MTK Mocktails, Merch Madness Group, Hygia’s Blue, AromaPier Inc., Southern Recipe Small Batch, Noir & Nova, Bactose, Verity Collectives, LA Reunion Jewelry, Hair Creations and Skin, Ollyball, Siesta Key Coffee Company, SLAPP, Hormbles Chormbles, Epic Pet Health, Cascade Skincare, Eyeitude, Nichols Farms, MIZU LAB, Granola Guru and KingBugagu. The book Billy and the Anxiety Monster by Peter Bedard was also among the featured gifts.
Beauty and fashion played a prominent role in the afternoon
It was so much fun trying all these products
. Clean skincare company SKÖN, whose products emphasize science-backed vegan formulations, was among the event’s co-sponsors, along with luxury swimwear brand BAYEE London.
The variety of participating companies—from skincare and jewelry to clothing, food, beverages, sports products, books and technology—gave the suite the feeling of a discovery marketplace as much as an awards-season celebration. Guests had an opportunity not simply to receive products, but to speak directly with many of the entrepreneurs responsible for creating them.
For emerging businesses, that personal interaction is an important part of the gifting-suite concept. A product placed directly into the hands of an actor, producer, media professional or other entertainment-industry guest can introduce a relatively unknown company to an audience it might otherwise find difficult to reach.
At the center of the afternoon was Rita Branch, whose Secret Room Events has remained part of Hollywood’s awards-season gifting landscape for nearly two decades. Branch and her team greeted guests throughout the event and brought together a notably diverse collection of independent businesses and established brands.
With another Emmy weekend underway in Los Angeles, the Secret Room Events suite provided a relaxed counterpoint to the ceremonies, premieres and red carpets—an afternoon devoted to discovering new products, meeting their creators and enjoying one of Hollywood’s longstanding awards-season traditions.
