Presley Gerber, 27, Dies at Santa Monica Rehab and Recovery Residence

Presley Gerber, a model and the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died Sunday morning at a rehabilitation and sober-living facility in Santa Monica. He was 27.

Santa Monica police responded at about 9:35 a.m. on September 20 to a call from the 1000 block of Berkeley Street. Dispatch recordings referenced cardiac arrest and a possible overdose. Officers found an unresponsive adult male. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 9:45 a.m. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the man as Gerber.

The Santa Monica Police Department said detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. Authorities stated there is no indication of foul play. An autopsy has been completed, but the medical examiner deferred the official cause and manner of death pending additional testing, a process that can take months.

Gerber died at Resolutions Living, a luxury co-ed recovery residence that provides long-term housing and support for people dealing with addiction, mental health issues, and co-occurring disorders. Reports indicate he had checked into the facility the previous evening. A family representative said the family is asking for privacy during a difficult time.

Born in 1999, Gerber began modeling as a teenager and walked runways for houses including Moschino, Calvin Klein, Celine, and Dolce & Gabbana. In recent years he spoke publicly about struggles with mental health and substance use, describing those issues as a significant part of his life and using his platform to raise awareness. He is survived by his parents and his sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber.

The investigation remains active. The medical examiner's office has released limited information while testing continues.
