Rep. Lauren Boebert Denies That She's a Lesbian or Bisexual, Denying Ethics Complaint

The Congresswoman utters words never spoken before by a member of Congress: "I'm not a lesbian or a bisexual."

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has rejected a sworn House ethics complaint accusing her of sexual relationships with three staffers she supervised, saying she is not a lesbian or bisexual and has never been sexually involved with any staff.

The complaint, filed September 17, 2026, by David B. Wheeler of the political action committee American Muckrakers, alleges Boebert had relationships with former District Director Clarice Navarro Ratzlaff, current District Chief of Staff Raven Finegan, and former Chief of Staff Jeffrey Small. House rules prohibit members from having sexual relationships with employees they supervise. The filing also claims Boebert arranged a roughly $200,000 payment to Navarro Ratzlaff in 2025 after the former aide indicated she might file her own ethics complaint.

Boebert told Sources Say News: "Well, I'm not a lesbian or bisexual, and I have never, ever been in any inappropriate relationship, nor have I ever been sexually involved with any staff." A spokesperson separately called the allegations "utterly false" and "a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear her, and generate clickbait."

Navarro Ratzlaff, a former Colorado state representative who served as Boebert's district director from 2021 to early 2025, also denied the claims. She told the Colorado Times Recorder the allegations about her were "entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous" and that there was "absolutely no truth to any part of this claim."

None of the complaint's claims have been independently verified. The House Committee on Ethics has not announced whether it will open an investigation. Wheeler's group has previously clashed with Boebert, including over earlier allegations and related legal action.
