The man shot outside Fugazi is expected to recover. Investigators are looking for a silver getaway car - described on radio as a Kia with a missing or covered front plate - that witnesses say struck a black Ferrari as the suspects fled.
Sheriff's deputies are still searching for three masked suspects after a man was shot Thursday evening outside the Fugazi store on Holloway Drive in West Hollywood. Later accounts corrected the early report that he had been shot inside a black Ferrari: he was wounded on the sidewalk, and the Ferrari was struck by the getaway car as the suspects fled.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department units responded around 5:15 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, to the 8700 block of Holloway Drive near Hancock Avenue, just south of the Sunset Strip, after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and gunfire. Deputies found an adult man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, the department and Sgt. Joe Cho of the West Hollywood Station said. His name has not been released. Early radio traffic described a wound to the lower back; that detail has not been restated in later official accounts.
Surveillance video aired by NBC Los Angeles, KTLA and others shows three masked men jumping from a silver vehicle, surrounding a man who had just left Fugazi at 8750 Holloway Drive, and struggling with him. The gunfire appears to have come as the suspects were running back to the car. A 911 caller reported about five shots; witnesses described five or six. Investigators recovered at least 10 shell casings, and a bullet hole was visible in Fugazi's front window.
The black Ferrari that dominated early scanner traffic was not the shooting scene. A witness, Uriel Baladez, told NBC4 the suspects' car hit the Ferrari as they sped away and kept going. Reports said a man and a child were inside the Ferrari and were not injured. Radio traffic at one point described the getaway vehicle as a silver Kia with no front plate, or a cover over the plate. Official descriptions later said only that the three left eastbound on Holloway Drive in a silver vehicle; earlier radio also had them turning south on Hancock Avenue.
The suspects are described as three adult men of average build, wearing face masks, black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and black shoes. Media accounts and WEHOonline have characterized the attack as a robbery. Sgt. Brian Judge told the Beverly Press on Friday that he could not confirm robbery as the motive.

These are surveillance stills circulated by Street People of Beverly Hills / Street People Media and published by KTLA. They are not official Sheriff's booking photos. The suspects were masked, so the frames do not show identifiable faces.
The first still shows the attack outside the store: a person in red pants and at least one figure in dark clothing beside a vehicle at the curb. The second shows the street in front of Fugazi, including a light-colored sedan with a door open among the cars at the scene.
The three suspects are described as adult men of average build, wearing face masks, black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and black shoes. They were last seen heading east on Holloway Drive in the silver vehicle. No arrests had been announced as of Friday afternoon. Tips can go to the West Hollywood Station at 310-855-8850.
