Maryland Bartender Allegedly Joins Mile High Club Solo on American Airlines Flight

Police report and passenger video describe 46-year-old Katy Inzer removing her pants and masturbating about 20 minutes after takeoff from Baltimore to Miami; she told officers she remembered nothing after pre-flight drinks, and the case was referred to the FBI with no charges filed.

A 46-year-old Maryland woman allegedly removed her pants and masturbated during an American Airlines flight from Baltimore to Miami, according to a Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office incident report and passenger statements.

The incident occurred on September 11 aboard Flight 1779. About 20 minutes after takeoff, passenger Alexander Pichardo told flight attendant Gabriel Barrero that the woman in seat 9D had removed her pants and "began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds," the report states. Barrero approached the passenger, later identified as Katy Inzer of Edgewater, Maryland, and instructed her to put her pants back on. She complied without further incident and fell asleep for the remainder of the flight, according to the flight attendant's account. Pichardo later provided a written statement to police that corroborated Barrero's description.

Police met the aircraft after it landed at Miami International Airport around 11 p.m. following a report of a disturbance. Officers who interviewed Inzer noted a strong odor of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. She told them the flight's departure from Baltimore had been delayed by about two hours and that she had consumed several drinks before boarding. Asked about the reported conduct, she said she did not remember what occurred during the flight because she fell asleep, the report states.

TMZ later published a short video it said showed Inzer bottomless and stretched across a row of seats near first class, with her feet against the window and one hand between her legs. The outlet reported that a passenger seated in front of her had heard moaning and alerted the crew.

Because the alleged conduct took place while the aircraft was in flight, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office determined the matter fell under federal jurisdiction and forwarded its report to the FBI. As of early October, no charges had been filed against Inzer, according to reports based on the incident record obtained through a public records request. Inzer, who works at a bar and grill on Maryland's Eastern Shore, has not publicly commented on the allegations.
