Viral Clip of Swedish Sign Language Interpreter Struggling with Rap Song About Oral Sex, Sparks Online Jokes About Explicit Rap Track; Song Faced Earlier U.S. Controversy

Swedish Sign Language Interpreter Provides Internationally Recognizable Translation of "Throat Baby" by Rapper BRS Kash performed as a Duet with Olivia

STOCKHOLM - A short social media video circulating in October 2026 has drawn attention and humorous commentary online after users observed a blonde woman in a blue off-shoulder dress appearing to struggle through an energetic stage performance whose gestures closely resembled those of a Swedish Sign Language interpreter working alongside the explicit American rap song "Throat Baby (Go Baby)."

The track, by Atlanta rapper BRS Kash (real name Kenneth Duncan), was originally released in July 2020 and later remixed with DaBaby and City Girls in January 2021. It is an explicit ode to fellatio, with lyrics including lines such as "I love the way you walk, love the way you talk," "Damn near got the best head in the world on her," "Go head spit on it / Pull out my dick and she lick on it / Paint her face like Picasso," and "You can get a house with a mouth like that." It peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 after going viral on TikTok and was included on some year-end lists of notable songs of 2020 by outlets including Vice and NPR.

When black rap is performed in Sweden with a mandatory, required sign language interpreter provided in case any deaf people happen to buy tickets to a rapper's concert, one naturally asks: Have diversity, equity and inclusion gone too far?

No major news outlets or public records have reported a formal live performance of the song by BRS Kash in Sweden, nor any official ban of the track in the country. Searches of Swedish and international media, as well as platform discussions on X (formerly Twitter), show no evidence of the song being prohibited by Swedish authorities or broadcasters. Sweden has no general ban on explicit music of this type, though individual venues or events sometimes apply content guidelines.

The song did generate controversy in the United States. In December 2020, BRS Kash performed a modified version (with lyrics changed to "Vote Baby") at a drive-in rally supporting then-U.S. Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia. After the appearance, some Republican figures and commentators circulated older social media posts by Kash that referenced sexual assault, leading to criticism of the campaign's choice of performer. Kash had previously told interviewers he initially hesitated to release the track because of concerns it could be viewed as degrading to women.

The recent Swedish-linked clip appears to stem from an X post (and related replies) that jokingly framed the woman's performance-and her visibly effortful gestures-as sign-language interpretation for the song. Swedish Sign Language (Svenskt teckenspråk) is an officially recognized language in Sweden, with professional interpreters commonly used at public events, concerts, and broadcasts. No confirmed connection between the specific video and an actual concert interpretation of "Throat Baby" has been established in reporting.

The episode has remained largely confined to social media humor rather than formal public debate or regulatory action in Sweden.
