Learjet 60 carrying nine people plunged from the sky in a steep, high-speed dive; Appeared to be missing its Rear Stabilizer.

GREENACRES, Fla. - A Learjet 60 carrying nine people plunged from the sky in a steep, high-speed dive and exploded in a massive fireball on impact in a mobile home park near West Palm Beach on Sunday afternoon, an incident captured in dramatic dashcam video.[]()

The aircraft, registered N722BD, had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas earlier in the day bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Flight-tracking data showed it climbed to a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet before beginning a descent near Naples. Shortly afterward, it entered a steep right-hand descent with a vertical speed exceeding 30,000 feet per minute. The last reported altitude was around 8,750 feet before contact was lost.

Learjet Fiery Crash Caught on Dashcam Video in Palm Beach, Fla.

Around 12:50 p.m. local time, the twin-engine business jet slammed into a residential area along South Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North in Greenacres. Dashcam footage circulating online shows the sudden eruption of a huge fireball on a wet roadway lined with power lines and buildings under overcast skies. The impact demolished at least one mobile home, downed power lines, gouged a large crater, and scattered flaming wreckage and debris across the neighborhood.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed nine people were aboard. Local reports and authorities described multiple fatalities, with some outlets stating all nine on board are presumed dead. It remains unclear whether anyone on the ground was killed or injured. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue treated the response as a mass-casualty incident; nearby hospitals were placed on alert, though no victims were transported. The nature of the high-speed impact and intense post-crash fire left little chance of survival for those on the aircraft.

Crater left by the crash showed little wreckage.

Military Trail was closed in both directions as emergency crews worked the extended scene. Weather conditions at the time included overcast skies, rain, and winds around 15 mph with gusts near 25 mph. Some observers noted convective activity in the broader region earlier in the flight.

It happened 7 miles (11 km) west of President Trumps residence, Mar-a-Lago.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation, with the NTSB leading the inquiry into the cause of the uncontrolled descent. No distress calls or specific mechanical issues have been publicly confirmed. The aircraft, a private business jet valued at roughly $2 million, is registered to a Delaware LLC.[]()

Some observers of the video said that the Learjet's tail stabilizer appeared to be missing before impact.

Authorities continue to process the site, and further details on the identities of those aboard and the precise sequence of events are expected as the investigation proceeds. But some observers of the video said that the Learjet's tail stabilizer appeared to be missing before impact.
