Knowing She Would Lose, Clinton Cancelled her Hudson Fireworks Display Before Election Day

Clinton Campaign asked the Coast Guard for permission to shoot off fireworks, then abruptly cancelled on 11/7

On October 31, 2016 Hillary Clinton's campaign requested permission to shoot off two minutes of fireworks. But at 3 pm the day before Election day, Monday November 7, 2016, the Clinton Campaign abruptly cancelled a planned Election Night "victory" fireworks display, The New York Post reports. It's clear that she knew she would lose that afternoon. Otherwise, why would she cancel a paid for and already approved fireworks display?

The Clinton campaign had contacted the Coast Guard last week for permission to do a two-minute fireworks show over the Hudson River when the election results went final, as early as 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/11/07/hillary-clinton-campaign-cancels-election-night-victory-fireworks-display-hudson-river.

The inescapable conclusion is the Clinton campaign knew the day before Election Day that there was something rotten in the State of Denmark. That's from Hamlet, but I mean she knew then she would lose the election to Donald Trump. Alternatively, she knew at a minimum the election would be too close to call by 9:30 p.m. New York time. She didn't want to shoot off fireworks that would be visible and audible not just from her campaign HQ at the Javits center, but also from Trump Tower.

Mrs. Clinton and also former president Bill Clinton, must now be concerned about their legacy. Will they be remembered for corruption, for leaked e mails and expensive speeches, for refusing to save the jobs of coal miners in West Virginia? Only time will tell.

Clinton and her operatives went into the race predicting her biggest problems would be inevitability and her age, trying to succeed a two-term president of her own party. But the mood of the country surprised them. They recognized that Sanders and Trump had correctly defined the problem—addressing anger about a rigged economy and government—and that Clinton already never authentically could. Worse still, her continuing email saga and extended revelations about the Clinton Foundation connections made any anti-establishment strategy completely impossible.

"So instead of answering the question of how Clinton represented change, they tried to change the question to temperament, what kind of change people wanted, what kind of America they wanted to live in. It wasn’t enough." http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-loses-2016-election-214439
