The man who killed Lee Harvey Oswald was confused with a "Strip Joint" owner

November 1, 2017

Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald

Jack Ruby (the man who killed the man who killed President John Fitzgerald Kennedy), was confused with a strip club operator named HARRY Rubenstein.

This according to new documents released by the Federal government this week, and posted online at a government archive website.

A few days after the Kennedy assassination, a man named Jack Ruby walked into a Dallas police station and shot Lee Harvey Oswald. Jack Ruby is a dark and mysterious figure. The shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald denied the American public the chance to clear up much about the JFK assassination. The improbable story of his walking into a Dallas police station and shooting Oswald, is itself grist for the conspiracists mill.

The document reads as follows:

URGENT 11--26--63

TO DIRECTOR AND SAC, DALLAS

FROM SAC, CHICAGO 44-645

JACK LEON RUBY AKA LEE HARVEY OSWALD DASH VICTIM DECEASED.

CIVIL RIGHTS. 00...DALLAS.

RE BACKGROUND

TONY LEONARDI, MANAGER OF THE PLAYHOUSE CAFE, FIVE FIVE ZERO NORTH CLARK STREET CHICAGO ADVISED SAS WILLIAM L MEINCKE AND JOSEPH G. SHEA ON ELEVEN TWENTY SIX SIXTY THREE, THAT HE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE OPERATION OF STRIP JOINTS IN CHICAGO FOR OVER TWENTYFIVE YEARS. HE ADVISED THAT HE KNEW PRACTICALLY EVERY OWNER AND MALE EMPLOYEE IN SUCH BUSINESS OVER THE YEARS.HE ADVISED JACK RUBY. WAS NEVER ASSOCIATED IN THE NIGHTCLUB BUSINESS IN CHICAGO FOR THE PAST TWENTYFIVE YEARS. LEONARDI ADVISED HE FEELS THAT IT IS LIKELY THAT RUBY MAY BE CONFUSED WITH HARRY RUBENSTEIN, WHO WAS A SUCCESSFUL STRIP JOINT OWNER FROM NINETEEN FORTYSIX TO SOMETIME IN THE NINETEEN FIFTIES. HARRY RUBENSTEIN HAD FREQUENTED A GAMBLING PLACE FORMERLY OPERATED BY JOE THURMAN, DECEASED, IN THE VICINITY OF DAMEN AND DIVISION STREET IN CHICAGO.

RUBY, ACCORDING TO WARSHAWSKY, WAS A SMALL TIME BETTOR AND FREQUENTED THE PLACE MORE FOR THE FREEFOOD WHICH WAS OFFERED IN THOSE DAYS THAN FOR GAMBLING ACTIVITY.

WARSHAWSKY SAID THAT RUBY WOULD PUT DOWN QUOTE FEW BETS UNQUOTE EACH WEEK OF SMALL SIZE. IN THOSE DAYS, RUBY WAS CONSIDERED TO BE A QUOTE LONER UNQUOTE AND HAD NO CLOSE FRIENDS. WARSHAWSKY KNEW HIM AS A LOUD AND BOISTEROUS INDIVIDUAL WITH A QUICK TEMPER. WARSHAWSKY ADVISED THAT TO HIS KNOWLEDGE, RUBY HAS HAD NO CONNECTION WITH ANYONE IN CHICAGO FOR MANY YEARS.

CG SIX FOUR NINE EIGHT DASH PC WAS CONTACTED BY SA WILLIAM F. ROEMER ON ELEVEN TWENTY FIVE SIXTYTHREE, BUT AT THAT TIME HE HAD NO PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF RUBY. ON ELEVEN TWENTY SIX SIXTYTHREE,

CG SIX FOUR NINE EIGHT DASH PC ADVISED THAT HE HAD SOME INFORMATION FROM POLITICIANS OF THE TWENTYFOURTHWARD, THE FORMER END PAGE THREE
