Woman behind bars after fatal crash that killed 3

Police arrested a woman early Thursday morning on suspicion of DUI after three people died and another was hospitalized in a fiery crash in Huntington Beach.

Bani Duarte of San Clemente was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, according to Huntington Beach Police arrest log.

The two-car accident happened just after 1 a.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Magnolia Street, KABC7 reported. A white Hyundai Sonata, driven by the 27-years old woman, was traveling northbound on PCH when it struck a red Toyota that was stopped at a red light, officials believe.

Officer Angela Bennett told KTLA5 that three individuals died from the crash. Their names have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
