Fourth Russian General Killed in Combat in Ukraine, this Time Near Mariupol.

Major General Oleg Mityaev, commander of the elite 150th motorized rifle division of the Russian army, was killed on March 15, 2020

The Azov Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claim that they have killed a 4th Army general, this time in combat near Ukraine. The heavily contested city has also been the site of around 2500 civilian casualties.

Major General Oleg Mityaev, commander of the elite 150th motorized rifle division of the Russian army, was killed today near Mariupol. The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented yet on the claim.

The Russians have lost 3 other Major Generals and no less than seven colonels. Russian communications systems are unencrypted. Plus they work so poorly that Russian military leadership has been forced to fight from the field.

On March 11th, Andrey Kolesnikov, Russia's 29th Combined Arms Army commander became the third Russian Major General to die in combat.

Maj. Gen. Vitaly Gerasimov, believed to be the first deputy commander of Russia's 41st army, was killed in battle Monday near Kharkiv, Ukrainian Armed Forces said. Several senior army officers were also wounded.

Gerasimov's death has not been confirmed by Russian officials or media. Last week, Ukrainian forces killed Russian Maj. Gen. Andrei Sukhovetsky – another top officer in the 41st Army – in combat, according to Ukrainian officials and Russian media.

Ukrainian soldiers posted a photo of the general's body to Twitter. We have not reposted photos of his body here, due to editorial standards and practices. But it may be seen on twitter at: https://twitter.com/leonidragozin/status/1503682751865802752?s=20&t=2NwNVbJ8TUtVhLxoHCyJ9A
