Mass Shooting Incident a Block from California Capitol Building in Sacramento Early Sunday Morning

Sixteen people were shot. Six are dead and at least 12 have been injured, according to Sacramento police

Sacramento police are investigating a mass shooting incident in downtown Sacramento. The shooting followed a concert by rapper Taylor the Creator, at about 2 am Sunday. Sixteen people were shot. Six are dead and 12 are injured.

Video of the incident on social media shows a group of young people brawling in the street, then shots breaking out. This on the corner of 10th Street between J and K Streets.

Police are searching for at least one suspect who remains at large.

"This is Sergio (Harris). He is one of the 6 victims in the mass shooting in Downtown #Sacramento. He was a father and married. His family gave me this picture as they are gathered outside the scene. @ABC10 #massshooting," tweeted Madison Wade, evening anchor at ABC 10 in Sacramento.

This from Wikipedia: The shooting occurred at around 2:00 a.m. at the corner of 10th and K Streets, just blocks away from the California State Capitol building and the Golden 1 Center. Police officers in the area heard the gunshots and immediately responded. On Twitter, a video was circulated, showing people running down the street and rapid gunfire being heard in the background. It was unclear if the shooting was connected to a particular venue or event, according to the police chief.

Immediately after the shooting, police closed the area between 9th Street to 13th Street, between L and J Streets, and called for the public to avoid the area. They later appealed to the public for help in identifying the people involved, as no arrests were made.
