After Police Pursuit and Crash, Suspect Shot and Killed by Police at Culver Blvd and Irving

Culver City police were called to the 3800 block of College Avenue in Culver City, on a report that the suspect had waved a pistol at his wife.

A pursuit by Culver City Police passed through Santa Monica early Friday morning. A vehicle ran southbound down Ocean Ave to the Santa Monica Pier at Colorado almost hitting 2 pedestrians.

The pursuit ended on Culver Blvd and Irving Avenue in a crash. The suspect exited his SUV vehicle and fired a weapon at officers, who returned fire. The suspect was shot and killed in the exchange.

Early Sunday morning, an officer involved shooting investigation was underway in the area. The pursuit lasted for about an hour and went into Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica before ending up in Culver City again.

The suspect had been investigated for domestic violence before the pursuit began. Culver City police were called to the 3800 block of College Avenue in Culver City, on a report that the suspect had waved a pistol at his wife.

When officers got there they found a suspect who got in his car and drove away, leading police on the pursuit.
