Ceiling Collapses at Non-Stop Sushi at Lincoln and Ocean Park Blvd in Santa Monica.

Traffic snarled for several blocks as Fire Department responds to a non-fire incident, involving a traffic collision and ceiling collapse

3.26: A ceiling collapse on the street in front of a Japanese restaurant in the mall at the corner of Lincoln Blvd and Ocean Park Blvd, damaged the restaurant on Saturday. Six engine companies responded to the situation. Firefighters taped off the block and examined the damage.

"How did they have a fire in the kitchen of a sushi restaurant? wondered one onlooker. I mean, isn't sushi like raw fish? " The bystander was correct: There was no fire. The ceiling collapse apparently followed the heavy rains. Some speculated that it also followed a car vs. building traffic collision Friday night, though that was not confirmed by authorities.

No one was injured but traffic was snarled for a few hours in Ocean Park.
