The Brent Shapiro Foundation Summer Spectacular Gala 2023

Lala Kent, wildly popular media personality, hosted the event with a fabulous musical performance by American Idol Singer Pia Toscano.

On Saturday evening September 30, 2023 the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug Prevention held its 18th year invitation –only gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, 9876 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Lala Kent, wildly popular media personality, hosted the event with a fabulous musical performance by American Idol Singer Pia Toscano.

The Spirit of Sobriety Award was presented to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Flavor Flav, American Rapper and founder of the rap group Public Enemy.

There were many celebrities that attended: Vanderpump Rules cast members Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, James Kennedy, Alexander Lewber and Logan Noh, Terri Seymour, (TV Reporter), Cara Santana (actress), Adrienne Maloof, Connie Selleca, John Tesh, Donna Mills, John Savage, Blanca Bianco, Brandy Ledford and Hilary Roberts (Singer).

During the reception I ran into the lovely actress Donna Mills who informed me of her own creative film project which she is starring in with her lovely daughter Chloe.

I chatted briefly with Rick Hilton at the bar, who admired one my handmade Pearl and black Agate gemstone bracelets that I was wearing, while he glowed about his new grandson "Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum"!

Robert and Linell Shaprio created the Brent Shapiro Foundation following their son Brent's death to honor his life and promote prevention and awareness of drug and alcohol dependence in in youths.

The foundation's mission is to save lives through prevention and compelling programs that children and young people to stop drug and alcohol usage.

The money raised at the gala goes to the Brent's Club, an evidence-based drug prevention program in which youths voluntarily and randomly test. They are educated on drug abuse and prevention through counseling, tutoring and once-in-a lifetime outings. Precedent trips included celebrity meet-and –greets and basketball camps with NBA stars.

Singer Pia Toscana's outstanding voice and charismatic movements brought many people out of their dinner seats to dance below the stage, including Robert Shapiro.

It was a wonderful dinner with a sumptuous meal, a live auction with luxury travel and gifts, impressive speakers, fun after party with a talented singer and filled with good people happy to donate to make this world a better place for everyone.
