Woman, 69, succumbs to Injuries After Car Versus Bicycle Traffic Collision in Santa Monica

Accident on 19th Street and Idaho put woman into a coma from which she did not awaken.

10.29: A woman who was hit on her bike Friday at the corner of Idaho and 19th Street, died of her injuries Saturday night. Her family terminated life support one day after the collision, as no brain activity could be detected.

Friday morning at approximately 8:45 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to the intersection of 19th and Idaho for a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist. The victim, a 69-year-old woman who was struck on her bicycle, was treated by Fire Department personnel before being transported to a local area hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
