Perez Hilton Under Psych Hold After TikTok Crisis. Team Issues Statement

Aging Influencer is said to have imitated Ariana Grande in a live TikTok putting blood on his head. Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies raced to the scene after receiving multiple reports of an individual live-streaming acts of self-harm

Perez Hilton (Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.) livestreamed severe self-harm on TikTok on August 4, 2026, appearing nude and covered in blood while repeatedly cutting himself with a knife and expressing suicidal intent before the stream was removed.

Miami-Dade deputies responded to multiple calls, confirmed he was alone inside his home after speaking with family, and used de-escalation tactics by tactically disengaging while monitoring the situation to avoid escalation.

News footage in the post shows emergency vehicles and personnel at his Miami residence responding to the mental health crisis, with Hilton later loaded into an ambulance for treatment.

8.5.26 Celebrity gossip king Perez Hilton remains hospitalized in Miami after a disturbing TikTok livestream sparked a flood of emergency calls and a police response late Tuesday.

The 48-year-old blogger, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., appeared to be in the throes of a serious mental health episode during the broadcast, which was quickly pulled from the platform along with his account.

Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies raced to the scene after receiving multiple reports of an individual (i.e. Perez Hilton) live-streaming acts of self-harm

Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies raced to the scene after receiving multiple reports of an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm. Officers confirmed Hilton was alone inside the residence, spoke with family members on site, and initially chose to tactically disengage while continuing to monitor the situation.

Deputies later said the man was “safely recovered” and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. Mental health professionals also arrived to support the family.

A source close to the situation told Fox News Digital that Hilton was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold under Florida’s Baker Act. The source said he is alive.

Local news crews captured the moment a man believed to be Hilton was loaded into an ambulance under the glare of emergency lights.

On Wednesday, the Perez Hilton Team and Family posted an official update: “We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being. We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time.”

Hilton first exploded onto the scene in the early 2000s with his no-holds-barred celebrity site PerezHilton.com, becoming one of Hollywood’s most notorious gossipmongers. The father of three young children had recently relocated his family to Miami and spoke publicly last month about feeling overwhelmed by the move, admitting he had fallen into “a bit of a spiral.”

Representatives for Hilton earlier said they were aware of the circulating content and that their primary concern was his health and well-being, as well as that of his family.

The incident marks another rough stretch for the once-ubiquitous blogger, who spent three weeks in the hospital earlier this year after a serious medical scare involving sepsis.

No further details on his condition have been released.
