    Thursday afternoon before 4 pm, an employee at Ralphs Grocery Company on Olympic Blvd was talking to a customer outside of the store. After conversation, a confrontation occurred. It's unclear who started the altercation. But the employee ended up pinned against a car while being beaten by his attacker.     John Alle is the man who put up the now famous sign saying "Santa Monica is Not Safe" on Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade. Tuesday at 3 pm he was beaten in Palisades Park. The assailant broke Alle's jaw in two places, gave him a concussion and broke two of his teeth. Authorities transported Alle to the emergency at Ronald Reagan/UCLA Medical Center.     An unidentified person of interest in the homicide case has been detained, the department confirmed at about 6:15 a.m. Monday.
