Suspect Arrested for Hit-And-Run

Police arrested a woman accused of hitting a 28-year-old man with her car on Pacific Coast Highway and then driving off.

Authorities say it happened on PCH north of Temescal Canyon Road on Valentine’s Day at 7:55 in the afternoon.

Lawmen report 74-year-old Anna Soon Ma of Fullerton allegedly hit the man with her Prius who was walking across PCH in a marked, flashing pedestrian crosswalk.

They say Ma left the scene without providing any information. Ma has been charged with Hit and Run Felony, according to authorities.

Authorities say the Victim sustained severe head trauma and was air lifted to a local hospital where he remains for ongoing medical treatment.

Undercover sting leads to Bicycle Thief

Santa Monica Police say they caught an alleged bicycle thief who tried to sell stolen bicycles on Craigslist.com.

Officers say they received a report from a bicycle theft victim where he found his stolen bicycle for sale on the website, Craigslist.com.

They say the bike had been reported stolen on February 10th and after the victim contacted the seller and confirmed that it was actually his bike in the listing, he called the police.

With the owner of the bicycle, police arranged to meet the seller at the

Starbucks Coffee Shop at Lincoln Blvd and Broadway Ave to purchase the bike, according to police.

Lawmen report the seller arrived and two officers, posing as customers, talked to the owner and agreed on a sales price.

The owner of the bike was able to view the bike and determine that it was in fact, his police say.

The officers say they arrested Miguel Hernandez, the seller for possession of stolen property.

A follow-up search of the suspect’s house and found two other bicycles that the suspect brought home on the same day as the victim’s bike, according to police.

Lawmen report Hernandez was charged with possession of known stolen property and given a $20000 bail.

32-Year-Old Man Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver

And police need your help catching another driver accused of a hit and run that injured a 32-year-old motorcyclist.

They say the accident happened back on December 25 2013 at 1:30 in the morning on Hollywood Blvd and Garfield Place.

Lawmen report a dark green sedan collided with a 32-year-old motorcyclist, a Los Angeles resident, and left the scene northbound on Garfield Place.

They say the driver of the dark green sedan failed to stop and render aid or identify himself or herself.

The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, according to authorities.

Texting Violation Leads to Drug Charges

Santa Monica police say a car stop due to a driver violating the texting law, led them to a missing car and heroin.

This happened on Valentine’s Day at 2 in the afternoon at the 4300 block of Lincoln Blvd. in Marina Del Rey.

They say they saw the driver, Scott Dickinson texting while driving and having a broken windshield.

Lawmen report they stopped the car and after running the car’s license plate, they found out that the plates were reported stolen.

During the traffic stop, they found that the car belonged to Enterprise Rent-a-Car and that the local branch manager was about to report the car as stolen, since it had not been returned on the date it was supposed to, according to police.

The officers say they noticed that the passenger Holly Lamere had needle marks on her arm and after they searched the car they found syringes and heroin.

Lawmen report Dickinson was charged with possession of a controlled substance and both Lamere and Dickinson were charged with possession of paraphernalia.
