A California woman with a deadly track record just confessed to murdering her second spouse - this time a veteran firefighter she stabbed more than 20 times after the woman tried to leave her.
Yolanda Marodi, 54, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the Feb. 17, 2025, killing of her wife, Cal Fire Capt. Rebecca "Becky" Marodi, 49, inside their Ramona home in San Diego County.
Prosecutors say Rebecca had told Yolanda she was ending their two-year marriage. The next day, Yolanda texted a contact: "Becky came home and told me she was leaving me, she met someone else, all the messages were lies. We had a big fight and I hurt her ... I'm sorry."

Rebecca suffered roughly two dozen stab wounds to the neck, chest and abdomen and died at the scene. Yolanda fled across the border into Mexico about an hour later. Mexican authorities nabbed her more than a month afterward near a Mexicali hotel.
This wasn't Marodi's first deadly marriage.
In October 2000, then known as Yolanda Olejniczak, she fatally stabbed her estranged husband, 26-year-old James Joseph Olejniczak, in his Fontana apartment. She took off with their two young kids before eventually turning herself in. She pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, got more than 13 years, and served time from 2004 until her release in 2013.
Now the twice-convicted spouse-killer faces 36 years to life when she's sentenced next month in El Cajon Superior Court.
Rebecca Marodi had spent more than 30 years with Cal Fire, most recently as a captain in Riverside County, and had helped battle major blazes including the Eaton Fire. Colleagues remembered her as upbeat and dedicated - until her wife's knife ended it all.
