LASD Investigates Unknown Adult Body, Found Burned in Covina

Homicide Arson Death Investigation, 20900 Blk of East Mesarica Road, Unincorporated Covina

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult that was discovered Friday, April 08, 2016, at 2:04 pm, in the 20900 block of east Mesarica Road, unincorporated Covina.

Detectives learned that San Dimas Sheriff Station deputy personnel responded to the location regarding a structure fire call. Upon arrival, deputy personnel saw Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel on scene extinguishing the fire.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel entered the house, extinguished the fire, and discovered in a bedroom the charred remains of an adult. The gender, ethnicity and exact age of the deceased adult have not been determined at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Arson/Explosives Detail investigators are assisting homicide detectives to determine the exact cause of the fire.

There is no additional information available at this time, and the investigation is on-going.
